Given a slightly different configuration, this would likely be our final home. However, needs change, so we will move on. We lived in downtown Indianapolis for over thirty-five years. It was a true neighborhood where everyone knew each other, shared common concerns and ideals and looked out for one another. We were sad to think we would never find that again. How wrong we were. Shadow Creek is a diverse collection of talented, interesting and active people of all ages. There are busy sidewalks with frequent passersby who stop, share news, sometimes a drink, but always a smile. It is the same type of neighborhood that we had grown accustomed to. This house is a great place that welcomes people as they enter the area. Easily recognized by the stone arches, it is well known to most anyone who has travelled the east side of Bloomington. With my interest in cooking and both our interests in entertaining, the house has served as a gathering place for friends and neighbors. We chose to use the living room for dining, which clearly demonstrates our priorities. In the few years we have lived here, we have added the amenities to the great refurbished structure that we purchased. It is a modern home inside a fabulous 1927 stone structure. The landscaping is most beautiful in the spring of the year. Besides weeding, there is little maintenance. The low cost of the mowing service has kept me from ever doing that for myself. The outside seating area, with the unusual fence, lets the breeze in and keeps the deer out. The grasses provide privacy for dining while reminding my wife of her days on the farm. Her personal wheat field. We will not be moving far, but will miss the place terribly. Hope you find it as delightful as we do.
